He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence "Doc" Vaughan and Opal Lair Vaughan; and his parents-in-law, Mike and Grace Strickland. He is survived by: his wife Joan Vaughan; his children, Sherri Foster (Kenny) and Rodney Vaughan; his granddaughter Stephanie Waltrip (James); his great grandchildren, Charley and Jack Waltrip; and his siblings, Howard Vaughan (Doan) and Marilyn Matsomoto. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
