He was predeceased by: his parents, Effie Mae Thompson (Airsman) and Joseph A. Thompson; and his siblings, Sharon Thompson, Patsy "Pat" Wofford, Joyce Pitts, Jack "Jackie" Thompson and Jacob "Jake" Thomspon.
He is survived by: his nephews, Jerry Wayne Dowdy and Justin Craig Thompson; his sister Jonelle "Jo" Dowdy; his sibling's children, Melanie Anderson (Carlton), Allen Dowdy (Beverly) and Jeff Thompson (Christina); and his cousins, Brenda Myer and Sammy Sickler. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
