Ruth Rickard Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 9, 2025, at the age of 100, Ruth Rickard of West Plains, Missouri passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Ruth's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Ruth has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lonzo Hollingshad and Mae Summers Hollingshad. She is survived by: her grandson Matthew Smith (Meredith); and her children, Willis Smith and Becky Smith. She is also survived by three great-grandsons; many nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
The lying in state will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home (211 W Main St, West Plains, MO 65775). A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Howell Valley Cemetery (6461 State Hwy ZZ, West Plains, MO 65775).
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Howell Valley Cemetery, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
