Though Shirley may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of our lives, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Eleanor Schmidt (Junkman) and Raymond Schmidt; and her brother Richard. She is survived by : her husband Jim Newberry; her sons, Jeff of Oregon, Barry (Lisa) of Blue Grass and Jason (Anne) of Solon; and her siblings, Sandy (Randy) of Bettendorf, Terry (Linda) of Bettendorf and Sally (Doug) of Knoxville, Tennessee..

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Runge Mortuary and Crematory (838 E Kimberly Rd, Davenport, IA 52807).
