It is with sadness that the passing of Joseph Keith Essmyer of Whitewater, Missouri is shared. Joseph, born on February 22, 1939, passed away on September 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Martin Essmyer and Helen Rebecca Sparks Essmyer; his wife Winnie P. Allen; and his great grandchild Willow Moser. He is survived by: his children, Teri A. Kluesner (William), Traci A. Davis, J. Keith Essmyer, Jr. (Allison), Tamra A. Tuttleton (Don), J. Kevan Essmyer (Vjollca) and J. Kirk Essmyer (Jamie Reneé); and his grandchildren, Joseph (Pam), Elizabeth (Nathan), Zana, Brandon, Brody, Brittney, Memphis, Samuel, Lauren, Aiden and Audrey. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel (1001 N Mt Auburn Rd, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Whitewater (180 W Main St, Whitewater, MO 63785).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that random acts of kindness be performed in memory of Dr. Essmyer.
