He was predeceased by : his mother Bernice Hawkins. He is survived by : his father Ernest Hawkins; his son Michael James Hawkins of Willard, Missouri.; his wife Toni Hawkins (Welborn); his children, Lauren Hawkins Keys (Mike Keys) of Kimberling City, Missouri, Megan Gilmore (Matthew Gilmore) of Brighton and Evan Hawkins; and his grandchildren, Rylee Snyder, Taylor Hawkins, Gavin Hawkins, Jonathan Gilmore and Malli Hawkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Angel Flight @ angelflight.com or Mission Aviation Fellowship @ maf.org.
