He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Pelt and Lucy Van Pelt (Gibson); and his brother-in-law Pete Strait. He is survived by: his children, Douglas Alan Van Pelt (Rhonda) and Laura Ann Van Pelt; his former wife Carolyn; his grandchildren, Avery, Owen, Peyton and Mason; and his siblings, Rozanne Strait, Gregory (Brenda) and Richard. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
