He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Pfeiffer and Alta Pfeiffer (Linhart); his brothers, Harold (Mary) and Harry Lee (Margaret); and his siblings-in-law, William Riley (Bill), Frank Williams and Pat Riley.

He is survived by: his son David Gene (Chris); his wife Sharon Pfeiffer (Riley); his daughter Deborah O'Connor (William); his grandchildren, Angie James (Josh), Kristin Mayson (Rich), Kimberly Kent (Chet), Nick Pfieffer (Megan), Megan Carter (Paul) and Kevin O'Conner; and his siblings-in-law, John Riley, Naomi Williams (Riley) and Reta Riley. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or First Baptist Church of Winigan.
