He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Dixon and Viola Dixon (Lutz); his wife Hetty White; his siblings, Vernon (Lavon), Carl Jr. (Hallie), Norman, Edward (Rose), Bob and Shirley; his siblings-in-law, Clarence McKim, Terry Platz, Jerry Haley, Ellen and Helen Dixon; his son-in-law Jon Hatley; his nephews, Robbie, Gene, Mike and Rick; and his niece Ellen Kincanon.
He is survived by: his children, Audrey Hatley, Zena Dixon, Shelly Sharp (Wes) of Clark, Tammy Carmack (Jeff) of LaPlata, Viola Kramer (Brad) of Winigan and Melvin Dixon Jr. (Mary) of Colorado; his grandchildren, Howard, Shawn, Anthony, Nikki, Josh, Lisa, Michael, Drew, Stacy, Trevor, Alexandria, Robert and McKayla; his siblings, Roger Dixon and Karen Platz of Paris; his siblings-in-law, Barb Dixon of Green Castle, Delores Dixon and Robert White of Kirksville; and his close friends, Bobby and Mary Craig of Green Castle, Missouri.. He is also survived by 26 great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cheeseman Cemetery or the Hospice of Northeast Missouri.
