He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Norris and Lola Norris (Aubrey); his stepfather Burton Easley; his great grandchild Bryson Stanfill; his nephews, James Smith, Donnie Payne IV and Jacob Payne; and his niece Joy Payne.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Smith; his stepchildren, Todd Crabtree (Debbie), Trent Crabtree and Tisha Crabtree (Chris); his grandchildren, Taylor Crabtree (Isabella), Kaitlin Jenkins (Cole), Cody Stanfill (Morgan), Haley Stanfill (Billy), Cayden Clevenger and Jayce Clevenger; his great grandchildren, Lillian, Olivia, Avery, Jack, Addilyn and Sawyer; his siblings, Linda Smith, Donnie Payne III (Nita), Sheila Seek (Steve), Ruth Ballew and Robert Payne; and his aunts and uncles, Nonie Clemenson, Sue Martin, Gene Aubrey and Randy Aubrey. He is also survived by 30 first cousins, 13 nieces and nephews, 34 great nieces and nephews, and 11 great-great nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made to hospice care, the Veterans Community Project, which builds tiny homes to provide housing for homeless Vietnam Veterans, or to a charity of your choice in his honor.
