We announce the death of Lester Wilmes of Wright City, Missouri, who passed away on August 30, 2026, at the age of 79. Lester will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his wife Kathleen Wilmes; his parents, Leonard Wilmes and Clara Wilmes; his brothers, Jim Wilmes and Jerry Wilmes; and his siblings-in-law, Patsy Wilmes, Marie Wilmes, Roy Giesmann and Rich Heppermann.
He is survived by: his siblings, Earl Wilmes (Barbara) of Falmouth, KY, Harry Wilmes of Josephville, MO, Raymond Wilmes (Rita) of O' Fallon, MO, Donald Wilmes (JoAnn) of Josephville, MO, Janet Giesmann of Wentzville, MO and Lucille Hepperman of Josephville, MO; and his sister-in-law Paulette Wilmes. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Pitman Funeral Home (1545 Wentzville Pkwy, Wentzville, MO 63385). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (1390 Josephville Rd, Wentzville, MO 63385). A burial was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery (1390 Josephville Rd, Wentzville, MO 63385).
