He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Grissom and Betty Ash Grissom; his son Hunter Grissom; his sister Beth Ann Grissom Beard; and his great-nephew Sawyer Glen Prisock.
He is survived by: his son D. J. Grissom; his granddaughter Anna Grace Grissom (Northport); and his sisters, Joan Lann (Walter) and Gina Prisock (Buddy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
