She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnny Virgil and Edna Mae Shields Best; her brother Johnnie Virgil Best; and her former husband David Kirkley. She is survived by: her husband Danny Stoddard; her children, Heather Kirkley Zanier (Aaron) of Aberdeen, Derik Stoddard of Oklahoma and Jonathan Best (Chelsea) of Columbus; her sisters, Barbara Gilmer of Aberdeen and Patsy Buzbee of Alabama; and her granddaughter Lillian Stoddard of Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
