He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Cleveland Jackson and Mellie Josephine Jackson; his siblings, Bell Perry, Zula Mae Tucker Coker, Beatrice Plunkett and Nathaniel Jackson; and his brothers-in-law, James Tucker and Hubert Tucker.

He is survived by: his wife Deloris; his daughters, Barbara Maddox (David) and Linda Blackwell (David); his grandchildren, Jessica Smallwood (Grant), D. W. Blackwell (Riesa), Carrie Russell (Corey) and Maggie Mott (Dustin); his great grandchildren, Jackson Conner, Kinley Russell, Elizabeth Smallwood, Foster Mae Blackwell and Aaron Mott; and his sisters, Beulah Tucker and Josephine Hudson (Bobby). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
