He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Vance, Sr. and Daisy Lee Howard; and his wife Annie Mae Walker Vance. He is survived by: his children, Tony Walker (Trina), LaTrans Rovell Spraggins (Jo-Anna), LaTrai Relberta Spraggins, Lisa Jones and LaTarsha Reshequa Spraggins Taylor (Bud); his siblings, Myrtle Smith, Anna Vance (Rocky), Sarah Lou Vance, Gertrude Shelton, Millie Ann Hoskins, Virgie Dell Vance, Jacqueline Vance, Trena Rena Vance, James Humphrey Vance (Rosie) and Michael Gates; his son Roosevelt "Red" Vance, Jr.; and his siblings, Berniece Bilbo, Virginia Boyd, Willie James Vance, Walter Vance and Elbert Vance, Jr..
