It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Umfress (Amory, Mississippi), who passed away on September 4, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. As David departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved David. Though David may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joyce Umfress and Kelly Umfress; and his grandparents, Verlon, Kel and Myrtle Umfress.
He is survived by: his daughter Julie Benson (Terry) of Bruce, MS; his sister Brenda Doyle (David); his grandsons, Ryan and Jacob Benson; and his nephew Adam Doyle (Leah, family: Dustin Doyle).
