She was predeceased by : her parents, Neville Phillips and Maudie May Mathis Phillips; her husband James T. Capps, Sr.; her daughter Wanda Faye Capps; her siblings, Harold Phillips, Leon Phillips and Louise Cox; and her brothers-in-law, Ollie Tucker (Shirley) of Wayne Capps, H. W, Jerry Capps and Charlie Capps.

She is survived by : her son James T. Capps, Jr. of Hatley; her brother Howard Phillips (Hazel) of Gattman; her brother-in-law Rodney Capps of Smithville; her sisters, Fay Dean Wright (Junior) of Amory and Josephine Smith (Gray) of Bigbee; her sisters-in-law, Brenda Salinas of Texas, Debbie Capps of Gautier, MS and Norma Capps of Amory; and her close friend Billie Jean Gray of Amory. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cleveland - Moffett Funeral Home (1604 MS-25, Amory, MS 38821). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
