He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommy Swan and Beulah Elizabeth Miller Swan; his wife Phyllis Clements Swan; and his grandson Ty McCollum. He is survived by: his son Philip Swan (Kati); his siblings, Wanda Simpson (Dell), Barry Swan, Hamilton and Jerry Swan (Martha) of Charleston, SC; and his grandchildren, Charlea McCollum, Maddie Swan and Sadie Swan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made to Ty McCollum's Scholarship Fund in his memory.
