He was predeceased by: his parents, Troy Carter and Avis Jefferies Gosa. He is survived by: his wife Vicky Carter; his children, Casey Coleman (TJ) and Jason Cross (Misty); his siblings, JoAnn Owings (Bobby), Terry Carter (Sondra) and Andy Carter (Belinda) of Foley, AL; his grandchildren, Victoria Cross, Madison Williams (John Dudley), Liza Rae Coleman, Dudley Williams and Theo Williams; his great grandchild Jason Wade Irby; and his close friends, Doug Fowlkes, Steve Fowlkes, David Hodo, Lee Wright and Eddie Wilemon.

Donations in Scotty's memory may be given to Sanctuary Hospice.
