As Dorothy departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Dorothy may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Dorothy leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her husband Rev. Sidney Dobbs; her parents, Everett Massey and Mattie Patterson Massey; and her children, Jimmy Smith, Rita Russell and Steve Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra Rogers of Shannon, Terry Smith (Christy) of Batesville, Paul Smith of Baldwyn, Kenny and Nita Davis of New Albany. She is also survived by grandchildren and other family and friends; two special friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Waters Funeral Home (309 N 2nd St, Baldwyn, MS 38824). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
