He was predeceased by: his wife Amy Dawn Hughes. He is survived by: his parents, Roy Hughes and Shirley Kidd Hughes of Tupelo; his children, Mitchell Gavin Hughes of Tupelo and Emberly Kay Hughes of Tupelo; his brother Mark Hughes of Belden; and his niece Aubrey Hughes of Tupelo.
