It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nellie Ruth Prather (Baldwyn, Mississippi), who passed away on June 22, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let her loved ones carry forward the torch of her memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of her love and the brilliance of her spirit. Though Nellie Ruth may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clovis Bishop and Hattie Bishop; and her siblings, JC Bishop, Jessie White and Peggy Cooper.
She is survived by: her husband Walter Prather, Sr. of Baldwyn; and her children, Walter Prather (Freda) of Baldwyn, Mark Prather of Baldwyn, Ronnie Prather (Patricia) of Guntown, Michael Prather of Baldwyn and Cathey Miller (William) of Baldwyn. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Baldwyn Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
