He is survived by: his wife Nancy Ann Newby; his children, Marcus Newby, Melissa Newby and Christy Palmer; his stepchildren, Judy Nichols, Delois Henderson, Linda Sims and Charles Dewayne Holland; his siblings, Jimmy Newby, Wanda Hill and Sandy Criddle; his grandchildren, Ricky Allen McCollum and Samantha Rena Newby; and his stepgrandchildren, Mathew Henderson, Shandale Able, John Cody Nichols, Anna Cheyenne Murphy and Latosha Danielle Henderson.

“We got to know Ronnie when he became a special friend as part of our First Methodist Church ministry. He was always so upbeat, smiling, and positive. We are so sorry to have missed his funeral as we didn’t learn of his passing until afterwards. I enjoyed talking with him about Wheeler High School: the teachers, students, ball teams, and events. He was such a lovely, sweet person who loved the Lord. The last time I visited I was concerned about his skin on his arms but he explained what happened.”
