He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie B. Cherry and Ruby Lee Cherry; his siblings, Pearlean Betts, Donnell Porter, John Wilson and James Rogers; and his grandchildren, Demi Rose Watkins and Devin Hodges.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Cherry; his sister Dorothy Bumphis; and his children, Margaret Montgomery, Creg Watkins, Greg Watkins, Koteasha Hodges, Kenosha Hodges, Quanesia Young, Rashad Walton, Erica Cherry, Adrial Cherry, Justin Cherry, Amber Cherry and Charity Cherry. He is also survived by his twenty-three grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
