He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Burress and Lytie Stubbs Burress; his wife Elsie Gean Elkins; his children, Tarsha Elkins Jones and Lovell Elkins; and his siblings, Idell Stubbs, Bobby Stubbs, Sonny Elkins and Jean Elkins.
He is survived by: his son Phillip Elkins (Jodda); his siblings-in-law, Gloria Dalyrimple (Jerry), Ada Randolph of Baldwyn, MS, Margaret Crump of Guntown, MS, Emma Stubbs of Kenosha, WI, Joe W. Billups (Stella), Milton Billups of Baldwyn, MS and Willie W. Billups of Hattiesburg, MS; and his goddaughter Zykerria Crump. He is also survived by grandchildren, four (4) great grandchildren ad a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
