He is survived by: his wife Ella Jean McCain; and his children, Sarah Turner (Kimbol), Heather Jo McCain, Wayne Roscoe (Cindy), Eugene Pipkin (Pam), Frank Pipkin (Myrna) and Melinda Pipkin Shields (Tony).

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials in Billy Joe's honor be made to New Hope Church of God, 14037 Hwy 35 S, Batesville MS 38606.
