Though Janie may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Janie touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Noble Hawkins and Vadie Chrestman Hawkins; and her grandson Cody Thomas Gaines. She is survived by: her daughter Kathy Snider Gaines (Kenny) of Batesville, MS; her husband Jimmy Snider of Batesville, MS; her son Terry Snider of Batesville, MS; her granddaughters, Emily Tidwell (Dustin) and Erin Snider (Dave Smith); and her great grandchild Harper Carson.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dickins Funeral Home (99 Public Square, Batesville, MS 38606). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Forrest Memorial Cemetery.
