He was predeceased by: his wife Nora Haden Downs; his parents, George Downs and Bessie Gregory Downs; and his siblings, Elton Downs, Clemon Downs, Irene Penner and Martha Fisher.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeff Downs (Sherry) of Bay Springs, MS and Stanley Downs (Martha) of Bay Springs, MS; and his grandchildren, Jeremiah Downs (Kayla), Tyler Downs (Harley), Heather Kinkead (Will), Chris Downs and Corey Downs. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
