He was predeceased by : his significant other Barbara Sue Amie; his parents, Joseph Amie and Zula Amie; his sister Vernelle Snyder; and his granddaughter Gabrielle Fleming.

He is survived by : his daughters, Charlotte Abbenante (Tony) of Raleigh, NC, Gena Amie of Mobile, AL, Denise Fleming (Stan) of Colorado Springs, CO and Donna Wilson (Terry) of Newton, NC; and his sisters, Evelyn Royer and Janette Romero.
