He was predeceased by : his parents, Jennie Ruth McCoy and Leonard Jones; his caregivers, Mattie "Bee-Bee" and J. C. Brazeal; and his sisters, Emma Lois McCoy-Carr and Cecelia Lynnette McCoy.

He is survived by : his sisters, Rosie Marie Nash of Burlington, IA and Tennie Melissa Neal (Terrell) of Mt. Pleasant, IA.; his close friend Darryl McCoy; and his friend Keith. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
