He was predeceased by : his parents, Fred Kirkland and Jean Kirkland; his siblings, David Kirkland and Mary Jean Kirkland; and his aunt Dorothy Lewis.

He is survived by : his wife Jeannie Kirkland; his children, Charlotte King (Nicholas), Katie Rockholt (Ryan) and Johnny Kirkland (Lyn); his grandchildren, Bailey Pratt, Baylin Rockholt, Asher Boulanger, Breelyn Rockholt, Camden Kirkland and Brantley Kirkland; his siblings, Cliff Kirkland, Kathy Potts and Nancy Boney; and his pets, Sandy and Sunny. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; a multitude of friends.
