He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas Gordon Evans, Sr. (Tommie Davis Evans) and Delilah Ruth Evans (Patricia Nell Evans). He is survived by : his wife Janice Ruth Evans; his children, Jon T. Evans, Jr. (Jessica) and Margaret R. Wheeler (Robert); his siblings, Benny Watson Evans (Rita), Thomas Gordon Evans, Jr. and Linda Kaye Mashburn (Robert); his grandchildren, Amber Nicole Warden, Porsha Leigh Evans, Anthony Nathaniel Wheeler (Cameron), Robert Payton Wheeler and Tony Tyler Wheeler (Ashlynn); and his great grandchildren, Jace Anthony Warden and Wrenleigh Joyce Evans.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Riemann Family Funeral Home - Gulfport (11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport, MS 39503). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:15 PM at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens (8910 Carl Legett Rd, Gulfport, MS 39503).
