She was predeceased by: her parents, Lavelle Slade and Evelyn Slade (Heim); her husband Fernale "Lee" Burns; her sons, Paul Burns (Linda) and Edward "Eddie" Burns; her stepchildren, James "Jimmy" Burns and Pamela "Pam" Mansfield (Anthony); and her brother Charles Slade.
She is survived by: her children, Dana Peterson (Terry) of Vancleave, MS, Kathryn "Kat" Burns of Biloxi, MS and Robert Burns (Nancy) of Montgomery, AL; her stepdaughter Jo Hannuksela (Rodney) of Richmond, RI; and her grandchildren, Keisha Mays (McMillan), Rebecca Graham (McMillan), T. J. Peterson (Lesley), Gary Surian II (Karen), Meggan Reisch (Chris), Claire Burns, Christopher Burns, Nicholas Burns, Heather Peterson, Amber Vidal (Peterson), D. R. Peterson (Beth), Donna Mansfield, Tessie Goode and Gary Mansfield. She is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
