He was predeceased by: his wife Marylin Sumrall; his parents, Leslie Sumrall and Allie Mae Jordan Sumrall; and his sister Janice Sticker. He is survived by: his sons, Lewis Sumrall (Joy) and Gregory Sumrall (Phyllis); his brother Jerry Sumrall (Brenda); and his grandchildren, Tiffany, Stacy, Justin and Mark. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
