She was predeceased by: her husband David Bowien; her son Gary Cotton; and her brothers, Howard Sims, John Sims and James Sims.
She is survived by: her daughters, Brenda Lyons of Biloxi and Teresa Byrd of Potts Camp; and her siblings, Wilson Sims Jr. of Cleveland, Ron Jones of Pinole, CA, Albert Jones of Phoenix, AZ and Bonnie Johnson of Pearl. She is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
