He was predeceased by: his father John Lee; and his siblings, James Lee, Doris Ross, Ruth Bartel, Annie Ryder, Jessie Lee, Robert Lee, Ollie Fayard, Hollie Lee and Iris Ryland.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Mellinger Lee; his children, Kevin Lee (Tammy Stewart Lee), Brenda Lee Cox (Edward Cox) and Richard Lee (Sally Comeaux Lee); his grandchildren, Ethan Lee (Brittany Blackmon), Brian Lee Jackson, Grace Lee Schmitt (Douglas Schmitt), Ryan Lee, Logan Cox, Alex Ramsey, Brad Ramsey and Dakota Finnerman; his great grandchildren, Jane Schmitt, Everett Ramsey, Ryker Ramsey and Jarce Cox; his brother Lowell Lee (Christine Lee); and his sister-in-law Billie Lee.
