He was predeceased by: his brother Bobby Wayne Smith; his siblings' children, Judy Berry and Bobby Smith (Little Bob); his brother Rev. Gene Smith (Delco); his niece Mavis Kennamore; his sister Rose Marie Medlin (JT); his nephew Ronnie Medlin; and his sister-in-law Ann Kesterson (Don).
He is survived by: his wife Janie Lee Gowdy Smith; his daughter Christy Paul (Steven) of Cotton Plant; his grandsons, Collin Paul (Millie Holley) and Joshua Paul; his brother Jerry Little; his sisters-in-law, Ramonia McAlister (Roger), Linda Clements and Dinah Dean (Dewayne); and his sibling's children, Daphane Wilson (Tim), Donna Bryant (Ned), Jennifer Tanner, Kerri Cobb (Tony), Tammy Robertson (Kerry Lane), Tonja Moore (Mike), Steve Medlin (Miranda), Brad McAlister (Stephanie), Eric McAlister, Jason Kennedy (Stacy), Tim Alsup, Jamie Miller, Zack Jones, Rodney Page, Mason McAlister, Mike Graves, Cole Rodgers, James Couch, Tony Cobb, Chris Sides, Herbert Fuller, Gene Landsdale, Doug Norton, Jeff Pipkin, Jeff Jones, Charlie Browning, Chris Gingerich and Pancho Rivera.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Blue Mountain Cemetery (51 Co Rd 842, Blue Mountain, MS 38610).
