He is survived by: his wife Susan Cox Phillips; his daughter Sarah Ann McVay (Shane); his grandchildren, Madeline Byrd (Gracson), Nick McVay, Sophia McVay and Vivian McVay; his siblings, Elizabeth Ann Cambre and Raiford D. Phillips; his pet Baby Sam; Rickey Jenkins (Audrey Lauren). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
