With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Martha Louise Prather in Booneville, Mississippi, who passed away on July 6, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her brothers, Billy and Bobby Smart; her siblings-in-law, Jackie Perrigo and Janice Smart; and her nephews, Justin Perrigo and Bric Turner.
She is survived by: her spouse JC Prather of Booneville; her sons, Bret Prather (Stella) of Bryant and Bart Prather of Macon, Miss.; her grandchildren, Braxton Prather of Indianapolis, Ind., Addie Prather of Starkville, Miss. and Branton Prather of Bryant, Ark.; her siblings, Gilford Smart (Jane), Jerry Smart (Donna) of Jumpertown, Miss., Mary Sue Perrigo of Rienzi, Miss., Lynn Corbin (Freddie) of Jumpertown and Anita Turner (Tommy) of Booneville; her sisters-in-law, Wanda Raines (Barry) of Foley, Ala., Patsy Smart of Corinth, Sharon Smart and Joy Walker (Paul) of Dry Creek, Miss.; and also Martha. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the McMillan Funeral Home (702 W College St, Booneville, MS 38829). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
