He was predeceased by: his parents, Felthus Cavalier and Elizabeth Thornton Cavalier; his wife Vivian Ideall Cavalier; and his siblings, Oliver Thornton, Mary T. Harris, Dorothy C. Sanders, Geraldine C. Shanks and Felthus Elizabeth Blaise.
He is survived by: his children, Dominique Cavalier (Charity) and Dimika Cavalier (Jason); his grandchildren, Dominique Cavalier Jr. (Angela), Aniesa Chillers (Clenard), Dontrell Harris, Natassja Stubbs (Dakota) and Jaycee Cotton; his great grandchildren, Phoenix John, Vivian Mae, Eloiza Reign, Willow Elise and Cole Joseph; and his siblings, Lucille Johnson-Sawyer, Nancy Cooper, Annette Neal, Cheryl Tillis, Toni Coston, Stephanie Combre, Rickey Cavalier, Gerald Cavalier, Lawrence Cavalier and Terry Cavalier. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
