She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Watkins and Bertie Gill Watkins; and her husband Gregory Louis Root, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Beverly Root May, Stephen Paul Root (Denise), Gregory Louis Root, III, James William Root (Susan) and John Robert Root (Joyce). She is also survived by nine grandchildren, their spouses and 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
