He was predeceased by: his parents, Louie M. Whitfield and Curtis Estelle Ward Whitfield; his wife Dorothy Whitfield; and his sister Ruby Peoples. He is survived by: his children, Curtis Todd Whitfield and Debbie Laird (Robert); and his grandchildren, Adam Laird, April Laird, Dillon Whitfield, Christopher Whitfield and Ashley Whitfield. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
