He was predeceased by: his parents, Doris Ann Smith and Louis Wilson Smith. He is survived by: his wife Betsy Smith; his children, Jeffrey Mitchell Smith, Lorie Ann Hanson and James Nathan Hanson; his grandchildren, James Carter Hanson and Elizabeth Paige Hanson; his daughter Elizabeth Danielle Smith; his stepchildren, Ryan Garrett and Amanda Garrett; his stepgrandchildren, Hannah, Madelynn, Zack and Nathan Sharp; his brothers, Terry Smith and Mike Smith; and also, Rylee and Logan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Fannin in Dale's memory.
