Though Erma Dean may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Erma Dean touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver D. McKinley and Martha Eulene McKinley; her stepfather Rex Walters; her husband Ivan Ray Dacus; and her sister Gail Owen.
She is survived by: her children, Torrey Craig Fitts (Kristine) of Daphne, AL and Meredith Weed of Brandon; her siblings, Anne Yeager and Frank McKinley (Gwen); and her grandchildren, Jessica and Callie Weed of Brandon.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mortimer Funeral Home (711 US-82, Greenville, MS 38701). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
