With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hazel Ivy of Brandon, Mississippi, who passed away on October 29, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Hazel farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Hazel is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John William Leroy Hopson and Birdie Mae Everett; her husband Oris Calvin Ivy; and her daughter Charlotte Diane Ivy Freeney. She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Ivy Dunlap of Brandon and Bobby Joe Ivy of Anguilla, Mississippi; and her grandchildren, William Calvin Freeney, Kirk Adam Freeney, Alec McCarty Dunlap, Ivy Breanna Dunlap and Summer Christian Dunlap.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church (7 Mile Rd, Mississippi 39097). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at the Straight Bayou Baptist Church Cemetery (157 Church St, Anguilla, MS 38721).
