He was predeceased by: his parents, James Allen Barker and Carris Alexander Barker; his siblings, David Barker, Janie Mitchell and Sarah Blalock; and his grandson Joseph Anthony Barker.
He is survived by: his wife Susie Moore Barker; his children, James Anthony "Tony" Barker (Elizabeth) of Mendenhall, MS, Stan Gray (Cindy) of Perry, GA, Virginia Case (Jerry) of Brookhaven, MS, Susan Hearn (Vernon) of Lena, MS and Joan Booker (Steve) of Orange Beach, AL; and his grandchildren, Lindsey Mast (Justin) of Anchorage, AL, James Kennedy, Houston Alexander Case of Ridgeland, MS and Carris "Addie" Case of Louisville, KY.. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home (3780 US-80, Pearl, MS 39208). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery (248 Honor Circle, Newton, MS 39345).
