Jane Kennedy Murphey Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jane Kennedy Murphey of Brandon, Mississippi, who passed away on September 7, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her former husband Mike Werne; her parents, Mary Frances Kennedy Comfort and Dan Henry Kennedy; and her grandparents, Guy Henry Kennedy, Lillie Mae Kennedy, Langdon Head and Leola Head.

She is survived by: her husband Charlie Murphey; her daughters, Anna Owens (Brian) and Laura Werne; her grandchildren, Ella, Parker and Tate Owens; and her siblings, Jo Hegwood (David), Lee Kennedy (Cathy) and Danny Stubbs (Shirley). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Brandon Building Fund or Southside Baptist Church Homeless Ministry.
