He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph "Bud" Maurice Mitchell Sr. and Elizabeth "Betty" Triche Mitchell; and his siblings, Sharon Mitchell, Glenn Mitchell (Pamela), Donna Volpe (Anthony), Diane McKearan (late Neil), Robert Mitchell (late Cindy) and Danielle Gambino (late Richard).
He is survived by: his wife Donna Jo Guthrie Mitchell; his daughter Emily Mitchell; his nieces and nephews, Lacey (Aaron), Christopher Alicia (Ashley), Zachary, Jessica and Kristina; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Cade and Audrey.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Ott & Lee Funeral Homes- Brandon (1360 W Government St, Brandon, MS 39042). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Crestview Memorial Gardens (1106 Star Rd, Brandon, MS 39042).
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations to Ducks Unlimited be made in Joey's name.
