It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margaret Joanne Rice of Brandon, Mississippi, born in Jackson, Mississippi, who passed away on May 5, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her daughter Amy; and her parents, Joe Hal and Mary Ruth Yarbro. She is survived by: her husband Jack Rice; her children, Betsy Davis (Lauren) and Trey Rice (Melissa); her grandchildren, Anna Rice, Abby Gables, Jack, Cate and John Allen Rice; her sisters, Judy Porter and Janet Reese; and also Mark Gables.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the Chapel of First Baptist Church (431 N State St, Jackson, MS 39201). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to UMMC kidney transplant unit.
