He was predeceased by: his father Reginald Grant Winstead, Sr.; his wife Phyllis Everitt Winstead; and his grandson Coleman Grant Wadsworth. He is survived by: his daughters, Cheryl Winstead, Nicole Banes (Michael) and Gretchen Kimble (Paul); his sister Betty Carolyn Bunting (Glenn); and his grandchildren, Austin Christopher Banes, Dawson Grant Banes, Olivia Belle Banes, Lillian Page Kimble, Nancy Nicole "Nan" Kimble and Duncan Monroe Kimble.

In lieu of floral gifts, memorials may be made to the Shiloh Church Cemetery Fund.
